Set It Up

(2018)

In the bustling heart of New York City, two overworked executive assistants, Zoey and Trevor, find themselves trapped in the demanding world of high-powered corporate culture. Both harbor dreams beyond organizing schedules and taking conference calls, but their lives seem to revolve around their relentless bosses: the fiery and ambitious media mogul Vanessa Cole and the egotistical yet charming tech entrepreneur, Leo Bryson.

Frustrated with their unappreciative bosses who demand perfection while providing no personal satisfaction, Zoey and Trevor hatch a plan: to set up their bosses in a relationship. Their goal? To enhance their own work-life balance by distracting Vanessa and Leo with each other, creating a cozy love bubble that will hopefully reduce their workload and provide a semblance of normalcy in their crazy lives.

As Zoey and Trevor’s covert matchmaking operation unfolds across the vibrant cityscape, a series of comedic missteps ensues. They create elaborate scenarios to push Vanessa and Leo into each other’s orbit—arranging chance encounters at trendy coffee shops, art galleries, and even a company retreat that takes a nosedive into chaos when an unexpected storm leaves them stranded together.

Along the way, Zoey discovers her own attraction to Trevor, who is not just a partner in crime but also a reliable friend. Their banter sparkles with chemistry, but the question looms: can they take their relationship beyond the confines of their office walls? Meanwhile, Vanessa and Leo’s dynamic becomes increasingly complicated as they learn to navigate the pressures of their careers and personal lives.

As the plot weaves through challenges and revelations, themes of ambition, friendship, and the unpredictability of love shine through. This romantic comedy probes the idea of self-identity amidst professional ambitions and the unpredictability that comes with taking risks in love. As the seasons shift, with each episode filled with hilarity and heartfelt moments, viewers will be left wondering if the real love story might just be the one unfolding between Zoey and Trevor while they work to set it all up.
