In the heart of small-town America, “Home Team” takes a heartfelt dive into the complexities of family, community, and redemption through the lens of youth sports. The story centers around Sam Rourke, a once-celebrated NFL coach whose career derailed amidst personal turmoil and professional scandal. Stripped of his glory, Sam seeks refuge away from the pressures of the big leagues and is reluctantly drawn back to his hometown, where he vows to rebuild his life.

Upon returning, he discovers his childhood high school is struggling to keep its football program alive. Faced with a lack of funding, a shortage of players, and a community that has long since turned its back on the sport, Sam reluctantly agrees to take over as the coach for the town’s misfit youth team.
