Thank You, I’m Sorry

Thank You, I’m Sorry

(2023)

In a quaint New England town, life seems idyllic for 30-something Nora Hamilton, a local florist with dreams of bigger adventures. Content with her small business, she finds solace among the fragrant blooms and the friendly townsfolk, but underneath it all, she battles the ghosts of her past. When her estranged father, a retired rock star she hasn’t seen in two decades, unexpectedly passes away, Nora is thrust into a whirlwind of unresolved emotions and hidden family secrets.

As Nora prepares for the memorial, memories come flooding back—both tender and painful. Her father’s absence has shaped her life in countless ways, from her fear of commitment to her hesitance in pursuing her passion for art. With the help of her loyal best friend, Julia, an aspiring podcaster determined to document the complexities of life and relationships, Nora sets off on a journey to confront her past while tidying up her father’s chaotic estate.

Among her father’s belongings, Nora discovers old letters, forgotten photos, and a trove of vinyl records that remind her of his vibrant, reckless spirit. Through each item, she unravels the story behind his fame, his demons, and the reason he walked away from their family. As she reaches out to old friends and bandmates for closure, she reluctantly meets Alex, a charismatic journalist investigating her father’s life. Initially resistant, Nora finds herself confiding in him, and their relationship gradually evolves from animosity to an unexpected romance.

With each step Nora takes toward forgiveness, she learns the power of saying “thank you” for the ups, downs, and lessons life throws at us, while also embracing the need to express “I’m sorry” for the things left unsaid. Just as Nora starts to piece her life back together, she faces a shocking revelation about her father’s secret past that could change everything.

“Thank You, I’m Sorry” weaves a poignant tale of love, grief, and self-discovery, exploring how facing the past can illuminate the path to one’s true self, ultimately leading Nora to not only heal old wounds but also to open her heart in ways she never imagined.
